A tale of two trees

Storm Arwen caused chaos across the country, with many trees being blown over.

Two situations in Herefordshire convey the different emotions that can be presented when this happens. For one family, there was a narrow escape when a tree behind their home fell across the house, causing extensive damage. However, at Belmont Haywood Country Park, there was sadness when the oak tree which has stood in the green was blown over. The tree, dating from the 1650s, has been a much-valued feature and it will be sorely missed.
