Which trees cope best with floods?

We have been looking at how trees can be affected by flooding.  

I began by exploring how prolonged flooding can damage trees, and then how we can help trees to recover. I am finishing our journey by looking at the future.

With the theme of ‘Right Tree Right Place, if we have a site known for flooding, by selecting trees that thrive in such settings, and avoiding those which do not like such conditions, the trees are more likely to be equipped to do well.

The guide below contains a selection of some of the more widely grown species of trees and how they respond to flood conditions.
